What is up with employers that close during a blizzard, and do not pay their full-time employees for the day off.

I worked my ass off all week missing the beach & a concert and I want my pay check so I can have a little fun. So I drive 20 minutes in traffic, wasting my gas to go & pick up my check. I walk in and there are eight employees sitting around doing nothing and I ask for my check and one of the managers says “we’re to busy right now, come back later.” This sucks!!! I waste my time and money driving over to get MY money and you tell me to come back later??? NOT KOOL!!

I work as a waitress in a very busy restaurant and on Saturdays and holidays the wait for a table can be almost 45minutes to an hour. Customers know this but they still come in and get very angry when they have to wait.  When they finally sit down they are nasty to me  and want to eat right away, but it doesn’t work like that.  Food is made to order and you have to wait for it. The customers take it out on me like it’s my fault and then they leave a smaller tip than they should. People it is not the waiter/waitress’s fault you have to wait, so don’t take it out on us and don’t leave a small tip. We are doing our job and we should be compensated properly.  Do you know that we are paid below minimum wage and we count on our tips to make up the difference.

Another cloudy weekend at the Jersey Shore…no customers in the store….no money…this blows

I just graduated and started as a cashier at a very busy bank.  The bank has me working the drive-thru at peak hours and I’m a little slow because I don’t want to make a mistake. The customers get nasty with me and cop an attitude because I’m not fast enough. It’s not my fault the bank  puts my on drive-thur  during rush. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Show a little respect, everyone has to start somewhere.

My parents want me to get a job, but I can’t find one. They told me that they won’t be able to give me spending money this summer. What am I supposed to do?

It’s another lousy weather weekend and no one is spending money at the Jersey Shore, so I make less tips. If this continues I’ll be looking for a second job soon.

It sucks to lifeguard when the weather is shitty out. It’s not raining hard enough to leave, but crappy enough so no one is there. It gets so boring.

I needed to vent cause I’ve been working at my job  for over a year now and I was next in line for a promotion to a better paying position, but I didn’t get it. Why you ask??? Because the manager’s nephew, who started two weeks ago, in the same position as me, was promoted instead of me. This really S*CKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wait tabels at a pretty busy oceanfront restaurant and although there is a supposed recession going on, you wouldn’t know it  by the long lines and number of table turn overs. So business is brisk and everyone is enjoying going out to dinner, so everything’s cool right? Wrong!!! I work my ass off all night waiting on some pretty picky and nasty people that have no problem ordreing everything on the menu, but when it comes time to leave the tip, they leave 10%??? Are you f****n kidding me??? Cut back somewhere else, don’t screw the poor working slob who is trying to pay for his own education!!!

You know what i hate when you knock over your managers drink, and he forces you to buy a new one. Like Seriously!!!?? I accidentley knocked over your drink, and I have to buy you a new one?? He deserves to be fired. Why are managers soo mean?? They wonder why their workers hate them. Maybe if they would be nice, their business would be better.

So I went into the Gap last week to apply for a job- no big deal.  But I found out I need to do it online, which is still fine.  When I get home I go online, but I have to search for the store, which I can’t find.  Great.  I head back the next day to the baby/kids Gap next door, which was the one that was hiring.  I tell the manager my problem and I also find out that I have to be 18 to get a job there.  I won’t turn 18 until the end of June.

Do you know that that means?  It means I won’t be able to apply there until AFTER every college kid comes home from college and the job will be taken anyway.  The kicker is that I can’t get a job there right now even though I have references, experience, and a high school diploma.  You know who has a better shot at a job there?  An 18-year-old, bimbo/slut, with no references nor experience, who could have possibly dropped out of high school.  I’m lower than that thanks to that magical day in June when I’m legally 18 years of age.

This is the dumbest law anyway.  What makes 18 so great?  We all mature at different rates.  Some 15-year-olds could EASILY be more mature than other 19-year-olds!  This law is just bullspit!

I bus tables twice a week at a very popular beach front restaurant. I am still a minor so I don’t always get to stay till all of the checks are closed out at the end of the night. I just found out from a co-worker that some of the waiters at the restaurant have been stealing my tips. I worked my ass off for that money and I deserve it! I know that if I complain, I won’t get the good shifts. I desperately need the money and I don’t know what to do.  If you  had this happen to you   please write and let me know how you handled it.

that a major corporation wouldn’t make major mistakes. if they are giving passwords out to its employees you would think they would hand out the correct ones. no, rather, they give the wrong passwords to the wrong people so assholes who dont need them get them and it causes more work for me! whatever, ill get paid overtime for their mistake.

WTF this is BS A freind of mine comes to me for a job so I hook him up !! No questions asked ….Since he has started…hes been worse than some of the people I  Have encountered in all my years …always late …losing keys !!! Just thought Id vent for a min.

SO things are tight, and the bars are slow which means my dad isnt making as much money as he was making. I have a job at a surf store.. and i hate it. im putting my two weeks in like tomorrow, and im going to start babysitting more. Anyways my dad tells me i need a easy way to make money. The first thing that comes to mind is ok.. my dad owns a bar.. and he was known as the best bartender in our home town in NY. So he can teach me when i turn 18 in like 5 months. Im not bad looking, im a people person, im fun.. I dnt see the problem. NOW he doesnt want me in the bar business, freaking make up your mind old man. idk what he wants from me.

When the hell did becoming a police officer become the one of the highest paying jobs on earth.  Betwwen salary,overtime, and health insurance for life, these civil (servants) are really ripping off the system.  In most towns all these chumps do is eat donuts and bullshit on there cell phones. Start at 20 , retire at 40 with 80 % of your inflated salary and the rest of your life is easy street and the taxpayers expense.  But, but they put there life on the line sir.  Yea, well our soldiers REALLY face danger and they get paid shit…Think about this when your next tax bill comes..This Bullshit is Bullshit..

Well,  it’s finally up!! I came up with the idea for  “ToVent”  a year ago,  and I purchased the domain name on April 29, 2008. I wanted to create a central site where people could complain.  One  year later,  look where we are!  ToVent.com was designed  to be the main complaint blog where people can complain ,  get  their frustrations out,  and be heard.  And it gets even better…other’s  can comment,  comiserate, and give advice.

P.S.   Since prom is about 2 weeks away, I thought I would vent…

Seriously, I’m trying to find a prom date because prom is about two weeks away. It’s probably the hardest thing to do if you don’t have a girlfriend. I’m trying to ask this girl and then her so called “friend, bf, who knows, weirdo”, is like leave her alone. I’m like man if she doesn’t want to announce that you’re her boyfriend, I guess she really doesn’t like you. Well, I’m going to have to look for a new one, I guess ill do what I did last year and get a prom date 6 days before prom. Well, I guess we’ll see what happens. A great quote to sum this up “It is wise to take your time than to pursue something that is half-cooked. Sometimes, waiting can mean the smartest decision you will ever make.” If this is true, I guess a better girl is waiting out there for me.
